First of the upgrade parts that I already had in the stash
Separated parts given their base/primary colour
Upgrade/Detail Parts Arrived
Detailing frame done while Alclad black base on engine dries
Body panels joined and puttied with citadel liquid putty (great stuff), holes drilled camera etc that come with the fork kit. Body panels primed with plastickote.
engine painting done incl tri tone on block, other engine parts detailed. used some 0.5mm PE nuts that I had in the stash, very fiddly.
The CF work took longer than i thought and a hand
injury left the kit untouched for a couple of weeks but back into it
with some gusto.
Engine detialing underway along with other fiddly photoetch parts (kicker is my new best freind) and painting of resin parts.
Update 08-10-13 - Starting to look like a bike :-)Engine detialing underway along with other fiddly photoetch parts (kicker is my new best freind) and painting of resin parts.
Few more detail parts
Realised after this there is a lot more that needs 2 it round the air intake area, its a tight squeeze now.
Faring time
So much detialing on this one, sometimes 3 or 4 colours on 1 piece of plastic :-/
Light layer of flat ready for decals
Aftermarket decals for the tobacco sponsorship and just to buck the trends im doing the Abe version not Rossi.
Nice suprise here as the decal is designed to be fitted after all the panels so they will have 2 b cut after setting so i can get the rest on and cleared before assembly.

And here are the pics of the completed kits.forgot how good it is to break out the camera and capture a finished kit.
Fitment is not perfect and I can see the mistakes but most importantly I learned from doing this kit and as a wise man once said (BadGrendels on youtube i think) completion over perfection.
Personally ive become quite addicted to watching peoples builds on youtube so ...
I also thought id try something new and took a short video and uploaded it to YouTube http://youtu.be/JKbxArDWF20
Let me know what you think, it was really easy and the tools on the website can really help.

I can't seem to get any pics on your Yamaha yzr build entry. Desperate to read the article again as I am starting one of my own.
